Blunderbusters - Post-Jam Patch
Thanks to everybody who played Blunderbusters during the jam! I received a lot of good feedback and thought I would put out a "Post-Jam Patch" incorporating some of it (this is the first time I've ever updated a game post-jam!). This update includes an overhauled UI, one new enemy type, the ability to delete structures, 3 new structure types, and several QoL changes.
New Features
- (Highly Requested) Structures can now be destroyed by hovering over their patch and selecting the bomb icon.
- New Mechanic: Lucky - Adds a chance for guns to fire a second (duplicate) Buster. Busters can individually become lucky using the new "Casino" Structure, and a new upgrade, "Gang Busters," globally applies this effect to your guns.
- New Enemy: Shielded enemies now appear as the game progresses. They have up to 9 HP and 9 Shield. Shields regenerate over time, so take them out quickly!
New Structures
- Apartment: A bigger House. Takes in 6 Busters and generates 4 new ones (returns the input Busters). CD 20s.
- Casino: An Economy Building. Takes in 4 Busters and returns them with either 2 coins or a Lucky upgrade.
- (Highly Requested) Park: A structure with no inputs or outputs. Busters will congregate here and await further instructions.
UI
- Main menu screen has been simplified (removed particle-effect Busters to reduce load time issues).
- Overhauled UI theme for better readability.
- Added a dedicated Menu Button for mobile players (or if your escape button doesn't work).
- New "Slow-Mo" button to complement the Fast Forward and Pause buttons.
- The Build Bar now has tabs for different structure categories: "Population," "Economy," "Combat", "Management."
AI
- Busters now path to structures that need more Busters (no more gathering around full structures).
- Enemies now give each other more personal space.
- If a Buster cannot benefit from flying to a structure, it will be ignored (e.g., clicking on a Bar won't attract full-damage Busters).
Balance
- Early-game difficulty has been reduced, while late-game difficulty has been increased.
- Conevents now cost 15 coins and take in two Busters (previously 20 coins, 1 Buster).
- Bars now cost 20 coins (previously 9 coins).
- House cooldown increased to 10s (previously 8s).
