PR Checklist
What is the current behavior?
Right now, core navigation has several rare crashes.
What is the new behavior?
Added few safety-checks to mitigate those problems (Trace messages have also been included so that we're still able to know when those cases occur).
Those checks are based on past experiences with #9204 and #9732 (the latter was more frequent during 8.2 alpha but some still face it or a similar problem at least).
Additionally @NathanWalker, this PR updates coding conventions markdown based on current prettier configurations.
