The annual UK Wheat Field Day is slated for Tuesday May 13, 2014 at the UK Research and Education Center in Princeton, KY. Registration will begin at 8:30
and the tours will end at noon (CDT). The field day will conclude with a lunch sponsored by the Kentucky Small Grain Growers Association.
Topics on the agenda include:
· Potential nitrogen loss with frozen ground fertilizer applications
· Delayed wheat development
· Long-term strategies for managing herbicide-resistant common chickweed
· Irrigation from a soils perspective
· Plant growth regulators and nitrogen rates
· Sulfur for wheat and other crops
· Wheat variety trials and scab update
