Wow, this had so many layers running throughout its playtime - from complex, family dynamics to darker themes like abuse. I particularly enjoyed the way that Samantha's perspective was always on the edge of a knife whether what she was seeing was real or whether her mind was trying to repress what she actually knew to be true.
There's a bleakness that permeates throughout the runtime of the playthrough, and the physical rubbish that's been left outside her back yard juxtaposes with what's happening with her internally. It reminded me of the Bad Parenting game, which also dealt with heavy issues - but unlike a lot of indie horror games that deal with these type of tropes, there was finesse and well executed handling on display here. Looking forward to playing more of Guilty Roses games in the future! You've got a follower and fan from here on in!
Thank you very much. Both for the praise and for the comment about the game crash. Today we released a patch in which we tried to solve this problem. Thank you for your understanding of our mistake. We hope that this will not happen again.
Wow, a lot of great stuff in this game! I really loved the pacing of the game, the style of the chase sequence, and the moody lighting during the night segment. The story is also pretty interesting and a good foil to similar games like Bad Parenting. There were a couple of minor technical hiccups (the game did crash about the halfway point during my first playthrough), but it didn't sour me on it (easy enough to just replay through the first part). Hope to see/buy/play more games from you!
Thank you very much. We are glad that you liked it. And we're sorry that you encountered technical bugs. We will try to prevent this from happening again. And you will see more new games quite soon)
I've played the prologue on my potato laptop, and it worked better than what I expected!
Would you be interested in a French translation and localization for Backyard? It would allow you to broaden your audience and reach a new playerbase, as French-speaking people would love such a game!
Hit me up if you're interested, it wouldn't be too long to do so.
Do you mean after the Godot logo? Or after when you click PLAY in the main menu?
It is possible that the game crashes due to insufficient available RAM. Try running the game with all demanding processes on your computer disabled, including the browser.
If that doesn't work, try deleting and re-downloading the file.
Honestly, neither we nor any other players we know have had this problem. So it is unlikely that the game code is the cause. First, we ask you to try what we said above.
Hello Guilty Roses! Really like the style of your games looks very interesting! I'd love to collaborate with you. I can cover all your sound needs from music to SFX, let me know if you are interested. Good luck! :)
Saludos!!!

Who says watching horror movies is a bad thing?

Hi there guys,

I can't seem to make the game work, it keeps crashing after the logo.

It's after the Godot logo, but sure, I'll try that first. Thank you!
