Synthesis of 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid (THBA)-intercalated Mg/Al-LDH had been conducted. THBAi... more Synthesis of 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid (THBA)-intercalated Mg/Al-LDH had been conducted. THBAintercalated Mg/Al-LDH was synthesized by co-assembly process of THBA anions and Mg/Al-LDH sheets. THBA-Mg/Al-LDH was characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). X-ray diffraction result showed that the THBA-Mg/Al-LDH has the lattice parameter of a = 3.04 Å, c = 39.3 Å and basal spacing d003 = 13.1 Å. The result of characterization with XRD pattern show that Au(III) has been reduced to Au(0) with the appearance of the gold metal characteristic peak at 2θ = 37.4˚; 43.6˚; 63.9˚; and 76.9˚. It was revealed that hydroxyl groups of TBHA played important role for reduction Au(III) to Au(0). Characterization using SEM showed that the Mg/Al-LDH-THBA have irregular agglomerate shaped.

The antidiabetic activity of curcumin analogs was carried out by the use of αglucosidase enzyme from moldy rice (Oryza sativa). The curcumin analogs were synthesized by reacting the vanillin with cyclopentanone. The structure of all products was confirmed by FTIR, GC-MS, 1 H-13 C-NMR spectrometers, and the activity enzyme. The results showed the curcumin analogs were yielded in 52.27%, respectively as yellowish-green solid. The inhibition test of the αglucosidase enzyme showed that the curcumin analogs were the potential to inhibit the αglucosidase enzyme with an inhibition percentage of about 94.26% in 5 mM.

U... more Used cooking oil is cooking oil that is used repeatedly to fry food using the same cooking oil. Using used cooking oil poses a danger to our bodies, and indiscriminate disposal of used cooking oil can harm the environment and waters. This problem was found in Bendiljati Wetan Village, Sumbergempol District, Tulungagung Regency. This community service aims to provide homemakers with socialization and training (education) regarding used cooking oil and the reuse of the waste. The method used in this activity is lecture and question and answer. This activity evaluation by distributing questionnaires in the form of pretest and post-tests shared before and after the action. This activity indicates that counseling and training on making candles from used cooking oil have provided new information and knowledge to homemakers in Bendiljati Wetan Village. This activity has been followed and carried out well by the participants.

The beauty of the beach must always be maintained so that comfort can still be obtained for everyone who visits it. The beach becomes a comfortable place if cleanliness is maintained. Plastic waste, if any along the coast, can be carried by the waves into the ocean. Plastic waste brought to sea can be consumed by marine biota because marine biota cannot distinguish between plastic and food waste. This community service activity intends to inspire visitors (tourists), managers and traders at Balekambang beach to care about the environment. A well-preserved environment will be a legacy that will be left on the next generation. The survey results show that visitors understand the meaning of waste and are willing to dispose of waste in its place.
The Majapahit plant is commonly found in Indonesia but is rarely used due to a lack of informatio... more The Majapahit plant is commonly found in Indonesia but is rarely used due to a lack of information about its potential. One of the secondary metabolites commonly found in this plant are flavonoids. Therefore, this study aims to determine the distribution of flavonoid compounds in the Majapahit plant, particularly their potential as anticancer activty. Leaf material from Majapahit plants was extracted using the maceration technique, while the flavonoid compounds in the extract were identified using LCMS (Shimadzu LCMS-8040 LC/MS). The identification results showed that about 97 compounds were detected, including 14 flavonoids. The flavonoid compounds found include Quercetin, Chlorogenic acid, Kaempferol 3-O rhamnoside, Acacetin 7-rutinoside, Fortunellin, Kaempferol 3-[6"-(3-hydroxy-3-methyl glutarl) glucoside], Didymin, Diosmin, Hesperidin, Rutin, Citrusoside C, Citrusoside D, Narirutin 4 glucoside] -7-glucoside. The highest composition of the identified flavonoid compounds was found in Kaempferol 3-O rhamnoside, with a 3.90%

This service is carried out in several stages, namely 1) Conducting socialization to students of SMPN 4 Pasuruan regarding the content and potential of local biological materials (used cooking oil) to be made biodiesel independently in producing this oil using electrolysis cells with the potential for marketing the product, 2) Conducting direct assistance to train students at SMPN 4 Pasuruan and provide used cooking oil production equipment and, 3) Report preparation. The promised outputs from this service are 1) Progress and Final Reports, 2) Publication of scientific articles/social media. The conclusion of this community service aims to provide skills and knowledge training to participants who are students and teachers of SMPN 4 Pasuruan about using used cooking oil to make entrepreneurial products. The target achieved in this program is that participants are able to know and process the main ingredient in the form of used cooking oil into more useful entrepreneurial products.

Sudah diselesaikan kegiatan workshop tentang penguatan materi ikatan kimia, penguatan materi kimi... more Sudah diselesaikan kegiatan workshop tentang penguatan materi ikatan kimia, penguatan materi kimia koordinasi dan penulisan karya ilmiah pada diskusi bersama musyawarah guru matapelajaran (MGMP) Kimia SMA Kabupaten Malang. Tujuan penataran adalah memahami pandangan guru-guru kimia terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan tentang penguatan materi ikatan kimia, penguatan materi kimia koordinasi dan penulisan karya ilmiah. Penelitian dilakukan dengan memberikan angket. Instrumen Asesmen tentang ikatan kimia, kimia koordinasi dan penulisan karya ilmiah. Angket dan instrumen diberikan kepada 37 guru kimia. Elaborasi data memakai deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif menggunakan persentase. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dapat diperoleh pemecahan atas persoalan yang dihadapi guru kimia di Kabupaten Malang, diperlihatkan oleh eskalasi capaian pemahaman sebesar 10,88% (berdasarkan dari pre-test dan post-test), dan pemahaman guru terhadap tentang ikatan kimia dan senyawa koordinasi sebesar 83,69%.

Virus Corona atau severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS CoV-2) adalah virus yang ... more Virus Corona atau severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS CoV-2) adalah virus yang menyerang sistem pernapasan. COVID-19 adalah penyakit yang disebabkan infeksi virus ini. Virus Corona bisa menyebabkan gangguan ringan pada sistem pernapasan, infeksi paru-paru berat, hingga kematian. Provinsi Jawa Timur merupakan wilayah yang memiliki perkembangan jumlah kasus positif Covid-19 terbesar kedua di Indonesia berdasarkan data 19 Mei 2020. Potensi peningkatan penderita Covid-19 di Desa Wates, Kecamatan Sumbergempol, Kabupaten Tulungagung tinggi karena pergerakan warga yang masuk dan keluar wilayah desa relatif tinggi. Oleh sebab itu, bantuan berupa alat cuci semiotomatis dan melakukan sosialisasi perilaku sehat khususnya saat berada di tempat umum sebagai salah satu solusi untuk mencegah penyebaran Covid-19 di desa Wates. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini antara lain: (a) koordinasi; (b) bersurat ke kepala Desa Wates untuk mendapatkan izin dalam melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian; (c) pembuatan alat cuci tangan semiotomatis dan materi sosialisasi dengan media power point; (d) sosialisasi perilaku hidup sehat, (e) hibah dan sosialisasi penggunaan alat cuci tangan semiotomatis; dan (f) evaluasi kegiatan pengabdian dengan angket. Berdasarkan hasil angket evaluasi kepada 22 orang warga, 100 % warga mampu memahami sosialisasi perilaku hidup sehat untuk pencegahan Covid-19 dan mampu mengoperasionalkan alat cuci tangan semiotomatis.

Minyak jelantah merupakan minyak goreng yang digunakan secara berulang-ulang untuk menggoreng mak... more Minyak jelantah merupakan minyak goreng yang digunakan secara berulang-ulang untuk menggoreng makanan dengan menggunakan minyak goreng yang sama. Penggunaan minyak jelantah tersebut menimbulkan bahaya bagi tubuh kita dan pembuangan minyak jelantah secara sembarangan dapat menimbulkan dampak negatif bagi lingkungan maupun perairan. Permasalah ini ditemukan di Desa Bendiljati Wetan Kecamatan Sumbergempol Kabupaten Tulungagung. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah memberikan sosialisasi dan pelatihan (edukasi) kepada ibu-ibu rumah tangga terkait minyak jelantah dan pemanfaatan kembali limbah tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah ceramah dan tanya jawab. Evaluasi dalam kegiatan ini dengan cara membagikan angket berupa pretest dan postest yang dibagikan sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa penyuluhan dan pelatihan tentang pembuatan lilin dari minyak jelantah telah memberikan informasi dan pengetahuan baru kepada ibu-ibu rumah tangga Desa Bendiljati Wetan. Kegiatan ini telah dapat diikuti dan dilaksanakan dengan baik oleh para peserta.

Waste cooking oil (WCO) resulted from the frying process with the same cooking oil repeatedly. Th... more Waste cooking oil (WCO) resulted from the frying process with the same cooking oil repeatedly. The use of used cooking oil can pose a danger to the human body, and the continuous disposal of used cooking oil harms the environment and the sustainability of human life. This problem was found in Wates Village, Sumbergempol District, especially housewives who are also members of the Rukun Makmur KRPL in the village. This community service aims to provide socialization and training (education) in making soap made from used cooking oil. The method used in this activity is lecture and discussion. COVID and posttest are carried out before and after the activity, which is one form of evaluation. The activity results showed that counseling and training on soap making had provided new information and knowledge to KRPL mothers in Rukun Makmur, Wates Sumbergempol Village, Tulungagung Regency, and provided skills to make soap from used cooking oil. This activity has been able to be followed and carried out well by the participants.

terinterkalasi asam 3,4,5-trihidroksibenzoat (ATHB) telah berhasil disintesis dengan metode kopre... more terinterkalasi asam 3,4,5-trihidroksibenzoat (ATHB) telah berhasil disintesis dengan metode kopresipitasi langsung melalui mikro reaktor-T. Material hibrida dikarakterisasi dengan XRD dan FT-IR. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sintesis Mg/Al-HT-ATBH berlangsung optimum pada pH 8 dengan perbandingan mol ATHB: Mg 2+ : Al 3+ sebesar 0,5 : 2 : 1. Karakterisasi menggunakan FT-IR dan XRD menunjukkan bahwa ATBH terinterkalasi di dalam daerah antar lapis Mg/Al-HT menggantikan anion NO3 -. Hal ini menyebabkan terjadinya pergeseran basal spacing d003 dari 11,27° menjadi 6,74° dan jarak antar lapis meningkat dari 7,84 menjadi 13,10 Å.

Hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dapat diperoleh pemecahan atas persoalan yang dihadapi guru kimia di Kabupaten Malang, diperlihatkan oleh eskalasi capaian pemahaman sebesar 10,88% (berdasarkan dari pre-test dan post-test), dan pemahaman guru terhadap tentang ikatan kimia dan senyawa koordinasi sebesar 83,69%.

Virus Corona atau severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS CoV-2) adalah virus yang ... more Virus Corona atau severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS CoV-2) adalah virus yang menyerang sistem pernapasan. COVID-19 adalah penyakit yang disebabkan infeksi virus ini. Virus Corona bisa menyebabkan gangguan ringan pada sistem pernapasan, infeksi paru-paru berat, hingga kematian. Provinsi Jawa Timur merupakan wilayah yang memiliki perkembangan jumlah kasus positif Covid-19 terbesar kedua di Indonesia berdasarkan data 19 Mei 2020. Potensi peningkatan penderita Covid-19 di Desa Wates, Kecamatan Sumbergempol, Kabupaten Tulungagung tinggi karena pergerakan warga yang masuk dan keluar wilayah desa relatif tinggi. Oleh sebab itu, bantuan berupa alat cuci semiotomatis dan melakukan sosialisasi perilaku sehat khususnya saat berada di tempat umum sebagai salah satu solusi untuk mencegah penyebaran Covid-19 di desa Wates. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini antara lain: (a) koordinasi; (b) bersurat ke kepala Desa Wates untuk mendapatkan izin dalam melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian; (c) pembuatan alat cuci tangan semiotomatis dan materi sosialisasi dengan media power point; (d) sosialisasi perilaku hidup sehat, (e) hibah dan sosialisasi penggunaan alat cuci tangan semiotomatis; dan (f) evaluasi kegiatan pengabdian dengan angket. Berdasarkan hasil angket evaluasi kepada 22 orang warga, 100 % warga mampu memahami sosialisasi perilaku hidup sehat untuk pencegahan Covid-19 dan mampu mengoperasionalkan alat cuci tangan semiotomatis.

Synthesis of 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid (THBA)-intercalated Mg/Al-LDH had been conducted. THBAi... more Synthesis of 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid (THBA)-intercalated Mg/Al-LDH had been conducted. THBAintercalated Mg/Al-LDH was synthesized by co-assembly process of THBA anions and Mg/Al-LDH sheets. THBA-Mg/Al-LDH was characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). X-ray diffraction result showed that the THBA-Mg/Al-LDH has the lattice parameter of a = 3.04 Å, c = 39.3 Å and basal spacing d003 = 13.1 Å. The result of characterization with XRD pattern show that Au(III) has been reduced to Au(0) with the appearance of the gold metal characteristic peak at 2θ = 37.4˚; 43.6˚; 63.9˚; and 76.9˚. It was revealed that hydroxyl groups of TBHA played important role for reduction Au(III) to Au(0). Characterization using SEM showed that the Mg/Al-LDH-THBA have irregular agglomerate shaped.
Synthesis of curcumin analogs (2.5-Bis((E)-4-Hydroxy-3-Methoxy Benzylidine) Cyclopenta-1-On) base... more Synthesis of curcumin analogs (2.5-Bis((E)-4-Hydroxy-3-Methoxy Benzylidine) Cyclopenta-1-On) based on Claisen-Schmidt condensation using an acid catalyst and inhibition of glucosidase enzyme was carried out. The antidiabetic activity of curcumin analogs was carried out by the use of α-glucosidase enzyme from moldy rice (Oryza sativa). The curcumin analogs were synthesized by reacting the vanillin with cyclopentanone. The structure of all products was confirmed by FTIR, GC-MS, 1H-13C-NMR spectrometers, and the activity enzyme. The results showed the curcumin analogs were yielded in 52.27%, respectively as yellowish-green solid. The inhibition test of the α-glucosidase enzyme showed that the curcumin analogs were the potential to inhibit the α-glucosidase enzyme with an inhibition percentage of about 94.26% in 5 mM.

Tujuan penataran adalah memahami pandangan guru-guru kimia terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan tentang penguatan materi ikatan kimia, penguatan materi kimia koordinasi dan penulisan karya ilmiah. Penelitian dilakukan dengan memberikan angket. Instrumen Asesmen tentang ikatan kimia, kimia koordinasi dan penulisan karya ilmiah. Angket dan instrumen diberikan kepada 37 guru kimia. Elaborasi data memakai deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif menggunakan persentase. Minyak jelantah merupakan minyak goreng yang digunakan secara berulang-ulang untuk menggoreng mak... more Minyak jelantah merupakan minyak goreng yang digunakan secara berulang-ulang untuk menggoreng makanan dengan menggunakan minyak goreng yang sama. Penggunaan minyak jelantah tersebut menimbulkan bahaya bagi tubuh kita dan pembuangan minyak jelantah secara sembarangan dapat menimbulkan dampak negatif bagi lingkungan maupun perairan. Permasalah ini ditemukan di Desa Bendiljati Wetan Kecamatan Sumbergempol Kabupaten Tulungagung. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah memberikan sosialisasi dan pelatihan (edukasi) kepada ibu-ibu rumah tangga terkait minyak jelantah dan pemanfaatan kembali limbah tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah ceramah dan tanya jawab. Evaluasi dalam kegiatan ini dengan cara membagikan angket berupa pretest dan postest yang dibagikan sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa penyuluhan dan pelatihan tentang pembuatan lilin dari minyak jelantah telah memberikan informasi dan pengetahuan baru kepada ibu-ibu rumah tangga Desa Bendiljati Wetan. Kegiatan ini telah dapat diikuti dan dilaksanakan dengan baik oleh para peserta.

The beauty of the beach must always be maintained so that comfort can still be obtained for everyone who visits it. The beach becomes a comfortable place if cleanliness is maintained. Plastic waste, if any along the coast, can be carried by the waves into the ocean. Plastic waste brought to sea can be consumed by marine biota because marine biota cannot distinguish between plastic and food waste. This community service activity intends to inspire visitors (tourists), managers and traders at Balekambang beach to care about the environment. A well-preserved environment will be a legacy that will be left on the next generation. The survey results show that visitors understand the meaning of waste and are willing to dispose of waste in its place.

Th... more Waste cooking oil (WCO) resulted from the frying process with the same cooking oil repeatedly. The use of used cooking oil can pose a danger to the human body, and the continuous disposal of used cooking oil harms the environment and the sustainability of human life. This problem was found in Wates Village, Sumbergempol District, especially housewives who are also members of the Rukun Makmur KRPL in the village. This community service aims to provide socialization and training (education) in making soap made from used cooking oil. The method used in this activity is lecture and discussion. COVID and posttest are carried out before and after the activity, which is one form of evaluation. The activity results showed that counseling and training on soap making had provided new information and knowledge to KRPL mothers in Rukun Makmur, Wates Sumbergempol Village, Tulungagung Regency, and provided skills to make soap from used cooking oil. This activity has been able to be followed and carried out well by the participants.

terinterkalasi asam 3,4,5-trihidroksibenzoat (ATHB) telah berhasil disintesis dengan metode kopre... more terinterkalasi asam 3,4,5-trihidroksibenzoat (ATHB) telah berhasil disintesis dengan metode kopresipitasi langsung melalui mikro reaktor-T. Material hibrida dikarakterisasi dengan XRD dan FT-IR. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sintesis Mg/Al-HT-ATBH berlangsung optimum pada pH 8 dengan perbandingan mol ATHB: Mg 2+ : Al 3+ sebesar 0,5 : 2 : 1. Karakterisasi menggunakan FT-IR dan XRD menunjukkan bahwa ATBH terinterkalasi di dalam daerah antar lapis Mg/Al-HT menggantikan anion NO3 -. Hal ini menyebabkan terjadinya pergeseran basal spacing d003 dari 11,27° menjadi 6,74° dan jarak antar lapis meningkat dari 7,84 menjadi 13,10 Å.
