I love this! To be consumed with great purpose... I'm sure that's what the poor people on Icarus were thinking as I sent off a single small ship to start off the game. 

I ended up saving almost everyone (ended with 7.29B) with a ton of fusion inhibitors (thanks @Gnorshk).

I was able to evacuate everyone from Kelvin and kept Earth alive by rushing lunar colonization/solar reflector/1 large colony ship, then spamming inhibitors until my second colony was established.  very much a hidden gem.
