Godot 4 lyf!
In all seriousness, though, this game shows a lot of promise. I like the graphical style, and the very solid implementation of JRPG-style cell-based movement in Godot is not a trivial task (at least it wasn't when I tried!)
The presentation is very atmospheric and mysterious, kinda like Yume Nikki but more down-to-earth.
Gameplay-wise, it's one of those Ib-like top-down adventure games, but with some interesting stuff added to it, like the laser puzzles and all that. It blew my mind when I first realized the lasers can be reflected perpendicularly, but it wasn't used that much until quite a ways into the game. Not a bad thing per se, just a bit strange.
There isn't much in the way of sound or visual effects when your laser destroys an obstacle or object (only when it destroys an entire room) which is kind of a bummer, but doesn't ruin the game. This was a game jam entry, so the time given to make the game was probably too short to polish with stuff like that.
I just wish there was an option other than C for the laser, as it's very awkward to use with WASD, forcing me to use the arrow keys which I don't like as much. Also, the final room with the mirrors seems to have some defective mirrors that don't reflect when they should.
All in all, a really good effort. 3/5
