The Role:
The Finance Team at PopSockets is a group of fun and talented professionals looking to add an experienced Financial Analyst to our team as we continue growing globally. This role will be responsible for complex modeling, budgeting, reporting, special projects, and other financial analyses. As part of a dynamic, high performing team, the Financial Analyst provides analytical support to all functions within the company to assist management in making informed and financially prudent decisions.  A successful candidate can manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of organization and attention to detail. Additionally, they should be comfortable working within a company that utilizes multiple accounting systems, transacts in multiple currencies, and has a start-up, agile work culture. We are looking for an individual with a positive attitude who wants to grow their skill set at a dynamic company that values collaboration and hard work. This position reports to our FP&A Manager in the US with a dotted line to our International Accounting Manager in Gurugram.

Responsibilties:

    • Support FP&A manager in forecasting, annual budgeting, operating expense analysis, headcount analysis and other ad-hoc analysis or special projects, with a special focus on non-US markets (APAC and EMEA)
    • Perform trend analysis on performance metrics and provide root cause analysis of forecast/plan variances
    • Work closely with international sales, marketing and accounting teams to identify risks and opportunities for various regions, channels and products
    • Assist in streamlining consolidation across entities by working closely with both our international and domestic accounting teams
    • Maintain and enhance weekly cash flow modeling
    • Identify opportunities to improve net income through top line revenue increases or cost savings
    • Prepare, in a timely manner, monthly financial reports and financial packages to support the achievement of organizational objectives
    • Partner with department heads to create and maintain budgets by department and vendor and provide frequent financial result updates along with analysis and support
    • Assist in the design and maintenance of the budgeting and reporting systems
    • Create pro-forma models for revenue changes and expenditure increases/decreases, including, but not limited to, changes in product assortment, pricing strategy, and adjustments to cost of goods sold.
    • Perform quality checks to ensure integrity of data by working closely with Accounting and the Technology Solutions team
    • Independently create and maintain reports; ensure reports are easily found within our intranet system by maintaining organized folder and naming conventions
    • Perform ongoing and ad-hoc analyses to provide decision-support for various operational matters (for example, profitability analysis for a new product introduction or agreement with a new distributor)
    • Liaise with department and project leaders to develop budgets, explain variances, and create reports
    • Maintain and further develop current worksheets and models
    • Develop repeatable reporting analysis
    • Prepare and develop specific Consolidated financial reporting for broader distribution
    • Develop strategies to enhance reporting and the analysis of trends
    • Monitor, recommend, and revise departmental Actuals vs. Budget processes to ensure efficiency
    • Identify areas for improvement and automation and maintain documentation
    • Other duties as assigned, including ad hoc project work

Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Math, Business Analytics or other quantitatively rigorous relevant discipline
    • 2+ years of hands-on investment banking, consulting, corporate FP&A or other financial analysis experience
    • Deeply curious and analytical, with ability to understand the big picture, develop hypotheses, and follow through with in depth-analysis to validate or illuminate underlying business and P&L drivers
    • Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, reporting, and budgeting analysis
    • Familiarity with GAAP accounting & key operational metrics
    • Knowledge of basic three financial statements and how they are linked
    • Advanced Excel skills - demonstrated experience with pivot tables and complex formulas
    • Beginner to intermediate SQL or other database querying languages is a plus
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task, problem solve and take ownership of work in a fast-paced, high growth environment
    • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
    • Strong work ethic and initiative with a positive attitude
    • Strong excel modeling skills
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Quickbooks and Cube or other financial modeling software is a plus but not essential 
$55,000 - $70,000 a year
