Iaxartes[1] (-is, m.) (Graece Ἰαξάρτης; Persice سيردريا Sīrdaryā; Casachice Сырдария Syrdaria; Tadiciane Сирдарё Sirdaryo; Uzbecice Sirdaryo) est flumen 2200 chiliometrorum in Asia Media, quod initium capit in montibus Tian Schan in Chirgisia (ubi hodie Naryn nuncupatur), fluit per Tadzikistaniam, Uzbeciam (ubi in valle Ferganica cum Kaškadaria confluit et nomen Syrdaria hodiernum cepit) et Casachiam, ubi in Lacum Oxianum (nunc mare Aralense Septentrionale) defluit. Alexandria Eschate urbs antiqua ad ripam Iaxartis sita erat.
