Physalis peruviana (binomen a Carolo Linnaeo anno 1763 statutum), apud Peruanos aguaymanto, est species plantarum florentium et fructiferarum familiae Solanacearum. In regionibus Andinis sponte gignitur; in Peruvia Brasiliaque colitur et ad cibum adhibetur. Saeculo XVIII exeunte in Europam, saeculo XIX ineunte in Africam Australem, Australiam, Novam Zelandiam introducta est. Sub climate tropico perennis, sub temperato annua viget.
Fructus immaturi virides non sunt edules propter solaninam(en)[1] quae in illis continetur. Fructus maturi, colore flammei, crudi comeduntur, in suco contunduntur, in confectura condiuntur (adiecto pectino). Ferculis salsisque in arte coquinaria Peruana immittuntur.
