Join Trish Freeman for a FREE Protocol Training Workshop on OUD treatment with Long-Acting Naltrexone and earn 3 hours of CE credit. Register by Friday, August 5. FULBRIGHT PROGRAM. The 2023-2024 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program competition is now open, and the application deadline is September 15, 2022. The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program to Romania is designed for American scholars and professionals interested in teaching and/or conducting research in Romania in a wide variety of academic and professional fields. Pharmacy is not offered at all of the institutions, but there are specific pharmacy programs at George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Targu Mures, the University of Oradea, the Ovidius University of Constanța, and the Western University “Vasile Goldiş” from Arad.

EQUIPMENT PILOT DEADLINE. UKCOP is seeking applications for the equipment pilot as part of an effort to support faculty in their research. The college will commit $600K over two years to support key equipment/data infrastructure for faculty with a primary appointment in the college. Application deadline is September 16. We wish to remember and honor those who inhabited this Commonwealth before the arrival of the Europeans. Briefly occupying these lands were the Osage, Wyndott tribe, and Miami peoples. The Adena and Hopewell peoples, who are recognized by the naming of the time period in which they resided here, were here more permanently. Some of their mounds remain in the Lexington area, including at UK’s Adena Park.
In more recent years, the Cherokee occupied southeast Kentucky, the Yuchi southwest Kentucky, the Chickasaw extreme western Kentucky and the Shawnee central Kentucky including what is now the city of Lexington. The Shawnee left when colonization pushed through the Appalachian Mountains. Lower Shawnee Town ceremonial grounds are still visible in Greenup County.
We honor the first inhabitants who were here, respect their culture, and acknowledge the presence of their descendants who are here today in all walks of life including fellow pharmacists and healthcare professionals.
