Cascade Hatchery Visitors' Guide
Cascade Hatchery was authorized under the Mitchell Act and began operating in 1959 as part of the Columbia River Fisheries Development Program – a program to enhance declining fish runs in the Columbia River Basin. The facility is used for egg incubation and rearing of coho.
Best time to visit: August – November
Visiting hours: 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. daily
Fish raised: coho salmon
What to see and do: During the fall, visitors can view Chinook and coho salmon spawning in Eagle Creek.

- Facilities: Camp host
- Nearby: The hatchery is near the trail head for hiking Eagle Creek and other trails.
Directions: Cascade Hatchery is located along Eagle Creek, 2.5 miles west of Cascade Locks, Oregon, off of Interstate 84 (Exit 41).
Take I-84 to exit 41. The hatchery is located 41 miles east of Portland.
