Trey Lyles

Biography

Trey Lyles first competed with the Senior Men’s National Team at the 2020 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Victoria where Canada lost to Czechia in overtime in the semifinals. 

After moving to Indiana with his family at the age of seven, Lyles had started playing in the USA development system before ultimately deciding to represent Canada internationally. As a junior he won bronze with Canada at the 2012 FIBA Americas U18 Championships. The following year, he finished second in tournament scoring behind only teammate Tyler Ennis at the 2013 FIBA U19 World Championship as Canada finished sixth overall. 

Lyles played one collegiate season at the University of Kentucky and was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team for 2014-15. He helped the Wildcats win the 2015 SEC Tournament and reach the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament.

Lyles was taken 12th overall by the Utah Jazz in the 2015 NBA Draft. He has since made stops in Denver, San Antonio, Detroit, and Sacramento.
