It has inspired every generation since its birth. It has the cultural impact likened to the world's most powerful religion and that is Hip-Hop. As a witness to hip hop's early incarnations, I was awed by the rise of this beautiful art form born of that ever reliable necessity. I am equally in awe of the passion that artists from various disciplines have for this art form. The work compiled is meant to help illustrate the positivity, negativity, and political consciousness embedded in the work of great hip-hop artist and creative writing, in addition to serving as a contributor to the culture and as a counterweight to the often-fearful misinformation that is sometimes attached to hip-hop culture via mainstream media. I know that this work across all genre disciplines that I provide is a gift offered directly to you through my lens and others alike.
