You are a team of engineers who have to protect a sphere which contains an alien creature, the last of its kind. You are the SPHERONEERS! Destroy stuff (with B) and repair stuff (with A) to progress.

To play, 2-4 gamepads are recommended; but it's actually also playable alone. Keyboard support rudimentary.
