Change Jamboard settings

As an administrator, you can change settings for your Jamboards. Some settings modify all Jamboards in your organization, while other settings modify only individual Jamboards.

Change settings for all Jamboards

You can view, modify, and update these settings for all Jamboards.

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. Go to Menu and then Devicesand thenJamboardand thenDevices.

    Some features may require having the Jamboard Management privilege.

  3. At the top right, click Settings .
  4. Click a setting to change it. See the list of settings below.
  5. Click Save.
Setting Details
Screensaver message Enter a message up to 120 characters to display on the Jamboard screen saver.
Ownership confirmation When saving a jam at a board, this setting requires the owner of a jam to confirm by email.
Jam timeout You can set a timeout value for all Jamboards in your organization. After a Jamboard is inactive for the set period of time, a message notifies users that they can either keep the jam open or it will close immediately.

Note: If the jam does not have an owner, it isn’t saved.
Chromecast streaming Set whether you’d like your Jamboards to be able to stream media using Chromecast.

Change settings for a single Jamboard

You can view, modify, and update these settings for individual Jamboards.

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. Go to Menu and then Devicesand thenJamboardand thenDevices.

    Some features may require having the Jamboard Management privilege.

  3. To search for specific boards, at the top, click Add a filter. Choose a filter such as the Name, Location, Note, Health, or Status.
  4. Click a Jamboard to view and edit its settings.
  5. To the right of the Device settings section, click the Down arrow , then click the setting to change it.
  6. Click Save.
Setting Details
Name Set a unique name to identify your Jamboard.
Location Enter the location of your Jamboard (such as the conference room where you use it).
Videoconferencing configuration Pair your board with a room calendar or a Google Meet hardware device. See Set up a Jamboard for video meetings.
Screensaver timeout (minutes) Set how long (in minutes) the Jamboard can idle before the screen saver activates. The maximum delay you can set is 1440 minutes (one day).
Demo mode availability Choose whether an interactive demo displays on the board. See Turn on Jamboard demonstrations.
WiFi SSID Add the Wi-Fi network name.
Notes Add a note about the Jamboard.
Send log data to Google Choose whether to send data to Google.
Language Choose a language to be used on the Jamboard. Jamboard currently only supports English and Japanese.
Time zone Set the time zone for the Jamboard.
Additional Keyboards Add an additional keyboard for the Jamboard. Jamboard currently only supports English and Japanese.
