Nos Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (PCN) há um entendimento que a Educação Ambiental (EA) deva... more Nos Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (PCN) há um entendimento que a Educação Ambiental (EA) deva ser contemplada em todas as áreas curriculares, além de informar o discurso dos professores, permitindo que todos sejam capazes de perceber a dimensão interdisciplinar e a transversal desse tema. Nas diretrizes curriculares da Rede Pública Estadual de Ensino do Rio de Janeiro detectamos a preocupação com a discussão de questões ambientais. Entretanto, não sabemos como a EA é contemplada no currículo das escolas públicas, nem qual o envolvimento dos professores nessas possíveis ações ambientais. Nesta perspectiva, foi realizado um estudo de caso com uma escola pública de ensino médio, com o objetivo de identificar quais as percepções e vivências que os professores tem acerca do tema.

It has been more than twenty years since the National Curriculum Parameters brought a new issue: ... more It has been more than twenty years since the National Curriculum Parameters brought a new issue: cross-cutting themes. Issues such as ‘Ethics’, ‘Work and consume’, ‘Sexual orientation’, ‘Health’, ‘Environment’ and ‘Cultural Plurality’ were proposed. Although they had not been chosen democratically, some of them have been well accepted and have been taking space in the work on classrooms and educational areas. However, even though the prefix – trans – may suggest, transversal themes are not transdisciplinarily taught. The understanding of transversality and transdisciplinary as synonyms in this article leads us to a nondisciplinary way of learning. In this study we aim, by a revision of literature, to contribute to the discussion of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary, envisioning the application of transversal themes in classroom to more meaningful teaching practices. Because of all contributions of Professor Jorge Nassin Vieira Najjar to Municipal Network of Educ... more Because of all contributions of Professor Jorge Nassin Vieira Najjar to Municipal Network of Education of Niteroi, it is natural that our sincere tribute and thanks to him were expressed with his name to one of our educational units. Jorge's remarkable presence in the city of Niteroi was not limited to his brilliant stinging at the UFF School of Education. In addition to having trained and guided numerous teachers, educators and managers working in the Municipal Network, Jorge developed a close relationship with our schools and was always present and active in our main educational debates, collaborating with us also as Municipal Council of Education. His struggle for democratic management and quality public education will always be present, inspiring the daily work of the Municipal Network of Education of Niteroi.

In 1991, the reformulation of the Public Educational System in Rio de Janeiro was approved by the... more In 1991, the reformulation of the Public Educational System in Rio de Janeiro was approved by the Rio de Janeiro State Education Department. As the public school had already been considered a failed institution, it was necessary to make urgent changes in its structure. In this context, a new curriculum proposal called “Plano Basico de Estudos” (Basic Studies Plan) was implemented in the first grades of elementary school. It established an ongoing progression system in which there was no retention. According to the government, this was an attempt to keep students from lower social classes in school as well as a way of securing excluded people’s rights. Thus, this study analyses the policies and objectives which have guided the adoption of the continuing educational system in the State of Rio de Janeiro. Este manuscrito, baseado em revisão de literatura, convida à reflexão sobre a importância da disc... more Este manuscrito, baseado em revisão de literatura, convida à reflexão sobre a importância da discussão das questões ecológicas na formação do profissional de saúde. Entre os aspectos considerados fundamentais, inclui-se a revisão da Agenda 21 e as interações entre os processos produtivos, o consumo, as inovações tecnológicas e a degradação da saúde e do meio ambiente. A proposta central desta discussão é a sensibilização para incorporar o debate sobre a relação entre ambiente e saúde nos currículos dos diversos cursos da área da saúde, incluindo graduação e pós-graduação. Considera-se que essas reflexões no espaço acadêmico são formas potenciais de promover a responsabilização dos futuros profissionais de saúde no exercício da cidadania, destacando o comprometimento presente e futuro com a existência e com as condições e a qualidade de vida dos indivíduos, da sociedade e do planeta.

While in the field of Brazilian political science analyses of bureaucracy are traditional, there is a certain omission with regard to the body of employees working in educational departments.
