Three Days of Community and Collaboration

The Georgia Climate Project (GCP) is hosting the fourth biennial Georgia Climate Conference. The 2023 Georgia Climate Conference aims to support and accelerate Georgia’s efforts to take practical steps to minimize the risks and maximize the opportunities associated with a changing climate.

The event will bring together hundreds of attendees representing multiple sectors and areas of expertise to collaborate, raise awareness of work across the state, highlight progress, and identify opportunities to do more.

Associated Event

We are pleased to partner with the 2023 Sea Grant Blue Carbon Law Symposium on the afternoon of May 17. All registrants of the Georgia Climate Conference have the unique opportunity to attend sessions on the first day of this symposium.

Location:

The 2023 Georgia Climate Conference will be hosted at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel (Georgia Center) in Athens, Georgia. Here is information for all registered attendees.

Arrival:

Registration opens at 7:00 AM on Monday, May 15.
Visit the registration desk first upon arriving at the conference (here is the link to the facility map) to receive your name badge and conference materials.
Registration will be staffed from 7:00 AM-5:30 PM each day.

Parking:

Overnight parking for Georgia Center hotel guests in the South Campus Parking Deck is $10 per day.
The fee structure for daily parking rates for non-Georgia Center hotel guests in the South Campus Parking Deck is as follows:
- 1-2 hours: $5
- Each additional hour: $1
- Maximum daily fee: $10

Public Transit:

We encourage attendees to carpool or consider other forms of public transit to arrive at the conference:

UGA Buses and Athens-Clarke County Transit are free to ride.
Bulldog Bike Share e-bikes are available at the Georgia Center and across campus. Visit this website for a $5 discount.

Meals Provided with Registration:

Breakfast (7:30-8:30 AM daily, Hill Atrium): The breakfast buffet will consist of breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, fruit, ad vegan tofu breakfast tacos.
Lunch (times and locations vary daily, refer to the program): All lunches will have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options available.
- Full conference attendees will have two lunches in the GA Center Magnolia Ballroom and one lunch at the UGA Oglethorpe Dining Commons (“O-House”). Your registration badge will indicate which day you will be dining at O-House. Lunch tickets will be provided in your conference materials.
- Single day attendees will have lunch in the Magnolia Ballroom.
- Boxed lunches will be offered for those who sign up for the UGA Sustainability Bus and Walking Tours (see program for tour descriptions). Sign-ups for these daily tours will be available at the registration desk.
Refreshment Breaks (morning and afternoon, refer to full program for times): Coffee, tea, and light snacks will be provided.
Evening Receptions (refer to full program for location and times): Light snacks and one drink ticket (beer, wine, or soft drink) will be provided. Additional beverages are available for purchase.
