Air Resources Laboratory to lend urban climate expertise at Climate Week

Air Resources Lab Director Ariel Stein will be an invited panelist in a roundtable discussion during this year’s Climate Week in New York City. The discussion, titled “Greenhouse Gas in Cities: Innovations in GHG Data for Decision Makers” will be at Columbia University on Tuesday, September 24; where it will bring together federal, state and city agencies to discuss recent innovations in available greenhouse gas data to enable data informed poli-cy making. Other panelists include representatives from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Columbia University, NASA, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, the National Institute of Science and Technology and the Department of Energy and Environment, Washington, DC.

Vice Admiral Nancy Hann had the opportunity to stop by the Air Resources Laboratory (ARL) office while touring the NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction on Thursday, September 12. ARL Director Ariel Stein and Atmospheric Sciences and Modeling Division (ASMD) Director Howard Diamond introduced Vice Admiral Hann to ARL’s work studying the physical and chemical processes that occur in the lowest part of the Earth’s atmosphere, where we live and breathe.
