Downtown Eugene

5th Street Public Market by Melanie Griffin

5th Street Public Market

Marché

Marché provides fine dining with a seasonal menu. They offer a late morning / mid-day brunch on weekends with a wonderfully intricate French-inspired menu. Consider starting with beignets or oysters, following up with the smoked salmon hash or the steak and eggs with a baguette toast. Conclude your brunch with an exquisite dessert.

Lion & Owl

Serving "Bubbles & Brunch" Thursday through Monday, Lion & Owl is a stellar culinary experience. Your brunching buddies will be impressed by the seasonal menu items such as foie gras toast and caviar as well as the sophisticated urban atmosphere. Guests have the option to enjoy their meal inside the fun Airstream travel trailer where the restaurant began as a simple (but stylish) food truck. In 2023, Chef Crystal Platt was recognized as a semi-finalist for Best Chef in the Pacific Northwest by the James Bread Foundation.

Jazzy Ladies

Gluten-free folks rejoice! Everything on this menu is entirely gluten-free (and nut, dairy and soy-free accommodating). Popular items include decadent waffles, chicken-fried steak and eggs benedict. Jazzy Ladies gets its name from a love of jazz music and you'll notice the themed decor the moment you walk in. Their brunch hours are offered daily—and why not start with an apple cider mimosa? Jazzy Ladies mixes up classic and innovative cocktails alongside coffee drinks.

Avocado Toast at 6th Street Restaurant & Sports Bar

6th Street Restaurant

Open for breakfast daily, and brunch on Sundays, this downtown sports bar serves up traditional breakfast favorites (and the unusual Brunch Burger which layers on a fried egg) in a relaxed atmosphere. You won't want to miss the morning cocktails which include a Bloody Mary Bar, a "Manmosa" and a pure squeezed Greyhound. Their location across from the Hult Center for the Performing Arts makes it the perfect pre-or-post matinee destination as they roll into lunch and dinner.

Two large breakfasts, two coffees and a bear claw pastry from Morning Glory Cafe.

Morning Glory Cafe Breakfast

Morning Glory Café

Morning Glory is an entirely vegetarian restaurant with plenty of vegan options. Even your meat-eating friends will love the lovingly crafted dishes made from scratch. Located near the train station, this warm little spot full of art is a great way to be welcomed into the city. Although there are many delicious sweet and savory options, I recommend the Three Sisters (named for the three snow-covered peaks sometimes visible to the east from Skinner Butte) which is loaded with veggies and topped with hearty mushroom gravy. On the weekends, be prepared for a line out the door.

Off the Waffle Downtown Eugene by Melanie Griffin

Off the Waffle Downtown Eugene

Off the Waffle

Off the Waffle has been a local breakfast staple since the brothers who started it were serving liege waffles out of their house. Their second location in South Eugene helps them keep up with the demand for the perfect waffle topped with exciting ingredients. Order a sweet or savory waffle, or bring home a pack of frozen waffles and add your own special toppings at home. Plan ahead because both locations close in the early afternoon.

Mid-Town Eugene

Mandy's

Eugene's search for late-night breakfast ended when Mandy's opened and created a family-friendly space to enjoy the most important meal of the day at any time! Mandy's is located on the edge of downtown and is open late — accommodating students' need for late-night cramming with a cup of coffee, a post-show milkshake, or the after-clubbing crowd desiring a plate of pancakes. Choosing between their French toast and corned beef hash is hard, so bring a friend and share.

Brail's

Voted the best hangover breakfast in Eugene many years in a row, Brail's is a local favorite for classic breakfast. With two locations near downtown, this is a great place to meet for a hearty breakfast with friends. For a comfort dish, try their signature Joy's Special of two hash browns topped with ham, different veggies and cheeses, and sausage gravy.

South Eugene

Glenwood

The breakfast menu at the Glenwood is huge because they really do have something for everyone. As a former New Mexico resident, I love their generous sprinkling of green chile in dishes throughout the menu. If you aren't familiar with the magic that is green chile, I suggest you order a Sierra Madre omelet immediately.

North Eugene

Coffee Plant Roasters

A trendy coffeehouse in the Westside Warehouse District that serves up some serious breakfast. Coffee Plant Roasters is a great place to sip some of Eugene's best coffee, watch as a fresh batch gets roasted and enjoy a beautiful acai bowl or avocado toast with all the toppings you didn't even know you needed.

South University Neighborhood

Studio One Café

For lovers of early Hollywood cinema, this little cafe is a great place to enjoy a meal with a little nostalgia. Studio One is also located near the University of Oregon campus. Menu items are named after movie classics and fictional characters like the "Animal House" benedict, named for the cult classic filmed nearby. If you are attending an event at Hayward Field, this is an ideal location to fuel up before you start a busy day at the track.

Brunch Beyond Eugene

Tavern on Main - Springfield

Slide into a booth at Tavern on Main, an Art Deco-style restaurant right on trendy Main Street in Springfield. Weekend brunches feature creative dishes from salted caramel French toast to buttermilk poppy seed pancakes. Their flight of breakfast cereal-inspired cocktails are incredibly popular.

Creswell Bakery - Creswell

Freshly baked bread and house-smoked bacon make Creswell Bakery a favorite stop for road-trippers headed south of Eugene. Chef Heidi Tunnell started baking in her Grandma's kitchen and still sources many ingredients straight from the family farm. Their breakfast sandwiches and giant cinnamon rolls are so popular that you'll want to stop by early before they are gone!

Our Daily Bread - Veneta

A charming country bakery housed in a former church, Our Daily Bread, dishes up omelets, quiches and pancakes. If you are out exploring wine country, heading out to spend the day at the Oregon Country Fair or cycling along backcountry roads, pause here to fill up on a hearty breakfast in a welcoming atmosphere.
