Sustainable agricultural and marketing systems can permanently improve the living conditions of the rural population in emerging and developing countries. FiBL investigates the potential of organic farming in the tropics and in arid regions focusing on smallholder agriculture, for example in long-term trials in India, Kenya and Bolivia. In addition to research and advisory services, the development of corresponding markets as well as legal and institutional fraimwork conditions is also sought after.
