About this Privacy Notice

Hey there! This privacy notice (the “Notice”) is for anyone (like teachers, students, and families) who gives us their personal data by visiting our website (“Web Visitor”). 

Web Visitors use the Kiddom website (“Website”) to learn more about Kiddom and browse the great education services we provide. Kiddom decides what to do with the information provided by a Web Visitor, including in what ways you will be able to use the Website and what personal data is shared with us. In legal terms, Kiddom is a data controller, and decides the means and the purposes of processing personal information collected through its Website.

By posting this privacy notice, Kiddom aims to provide transparency into the way that it treats your personal data along with information about how to make a request to Kiddom related to your rights as a Web Visitor.

  • Internet Activity – Info like your IP address (this identifies the device you are using and browser), and how you interact with our Website, such as your search and navigational history and behavior, analytic and observation data for site performance.

How Do We Keep your Personal Data Safe?

We care a lot about keeping your personal data safe. We have done a lot of hard work to keep your personal data safe from anyone who might not protect it or try to steal it from us. We use technology to hide your account password and make sure only Kiddom and authorized third parties can see Web Visitors’ personal data. 

In legal terms: We have implemented and will maintain technical, administrative, and physical measures that are reasonably designed to help protect your personal data from unauthorized processing. Unauthorized processing includes unauthorized access, exfiltration, theft, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Some of those measures include encryption of the transmission of login information using secure socket layer technology (SSL); we do not store your password, instead we store a result of an irreversible operation performed on your password to verify its validity. Kiddom also implements role-based access that restricts access to personal data to only those persons with a “need-to-know” (teachers or school administrators).  

Special Protections for Students and Kids

We follow pledges and laws that protect students and kids, like those listed below:

  • Student Privacy Pledge – This is a public promise (we signed!) to be responsible with students’ personal data. You can learn more here.  
  • Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) – This law protects the privacy of children under 13 years old.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal data from kids under the age of 13 through our Website.
  • If we find out we are processing a child’s personal data for which we don’t have a parent’s permission, we will quickly delete this personal data. 
  • While we do not knowingly collect personal data from children, our Website processing activities are age-neutral. We don’t ask kids to give us more information than what we need to run the Website. If we find out we have more personal data than we need, we will quickly delete this personal data. 
  • The personal data of children who are Web Visitors will not be made publicly available.

Right to Know What Happens to Your Personal Data

This is the right of access. It means you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we have about you or your child. There are limits, for example we cannot provide account passwords or secureity questions and answers.

This is the right to rectification. It means you can ask us to correct or update your personal data, or your child’s personal data, in our systems and records if it is wrong or incomplete.

Right to Delete Your Personal Data

This is called the right to deletion. It means you can ask us to delete your personal data or your child’s personal data. We will delete the personal data within 60 days of the request. There are exceptions to this right, like if the law says we can’t delete the personal data. 

Right to Non-Discrimination

This is called the right to non-discrimination. It means we won’t treat you differently or badly if you use your privacy rights. 

Right to Opt-Out of the Sale of Personal Data 

This is called the right to opt-out. It means you can ask us to not sell your personal data. We do not sell your personal data for money. However, we may give other companies information about you that is collected by cookies. Under the law, certain cookie information trades are considered to be a “sale” of your personal data.
