Girls in Civil teach next generation of females in STEM
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — To prepare the next generation of STEM studies, Morrill Hall held an event aimed at introducing young girls to the field.
Five booths in Mammoth Hall offered hands on activities for every visitor to try.
Each booth taught a lesson related to civil engineering and its relation to everyday life.
Gabriela Gonzalez said she hopes those who stopped by will continue to pursue a STEM field.
“I love it because they get to learn about different things, and sometimes the kids know more than us.”
She said it was inspiring to see so many interested in learning about civil engineering.
Visit Girls in Civil’s website for more information about the group.
You can catch the next ‘Sunday with a Scientist’ the last weekend in March.
