NOAA is pleased to announce that the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium has been selected to receive $2.7 million in funding through the Inflation Reduction Act. Through a collaboration with NOAA’s National Ocean Service and National Sea Grant Office, the funding will support efforts over the next four years to expand ANTHC’s work addressing climate change impacts on Alaska Native communities. This funding will support Tribal-led climate adaptation strategies, boost technical assistance for all 229 Alaska Native tribes and strengthen the capacity to address rising waters, flooding and permafrost degradation. ANTHC’s strong community connections and partnership with NOAA will help develop sustainable solutions for these challenges. This initiative marks a key step towards enhancing climate resilience for Alaska Native communities.
