Minerals are still chemicals; we need to be really careful about wording here. It's not that all chemicals are bad. Should the words synthetic chemicals be used and compared to natural mineral chemicals... But natural chemicals can be toxic too, e.g. cyanogenic glycosides in plants, lectins in beans and mycotoxins from moulds.

All personal care products end up in the water or sediment column... I don't know how nature has dealt with all those chemical throughout all these years.
