Pedigreed stock available from Puddleduck Farm. Sheep from our flock have been sold all over the United States, as well as some going back to the Navajo People.

Nikyle Begay, a shepherd with a flock of Navajo-Churro, is also a weaver and a member of the Diné tribe.

The Churro were the first domesticated sheep in the New World, and, by most historical accounts, were brought to the Southwest by Spanish Conquistadors in the 1500s. Over the next three centuries, Churro sheep and the Navajo Indian Nation wove a life together living in harmony and in balance with nature.

Diné shepherds and ancestral flocks of Navajo-Churro sheep are weathering a pandemic and poor wool prices. You can help support a Diné-owned wool co-op organized to support flocks on the Navajo Nation.
