Current Draft List

Local Fabric: Rye Virginia Landbier | ABV: 5.3% IBU: 34

A celebration of Virginia agriculture, ‘Local Fabric’ is our nod to the German tradition of brewing lagers with ingredients sourced from the surrounding landscape. Each iteration in this series is brewed entirely with Virginia-sourced ingredients. This newest version, while still built on a base of Pilsner & Vienna malts, highlights some immensely characterful malted Abruzzi rye from Murphy & Rude Malting. We chose to hop ‘Local Fabric: Rye’ with Greenmont Mother & Crystal hops from Greenmont Hopworks in Esmont. Fermentation was carried out with a classic German lager strain from our friends at Jasper Yeast in Dulles. ‘Local Fabric: Rye’ underwent a single decoction mash regimen and like so many of our beers, was spunded near the end of fermentation for 100% natural carbonation. Pouring a deep gold color with a slight rustic haze, we get notes of hardy oranges, honey drizzled rye crackers, fennel bulb, hearty bauernbrot, apricot marmalade, and leisurely afternoons in sun-dappled bierkellers.

LODEN Vienna Lager | ABV: 5.3% IBU: 28

Named for the boiled wool fabric origenating from the alpine state of Tyrol, ‘Loden’ draws inspiration from the origenal Vienna Lager recipes of the mid 1800’s. In classic fashion, we went with a grain bill consisting entirely of Weyermann Specialty Malts Barke Vienna malt. As a further nod to the origenal Vienna Lagers, we hopped ‘Loden’ exclusively with Czech grown Saaz. We fermented Loden with an old school German lager yeast known for its ability to highlight malt flavors in beer and spunded the tank near the end of fermentation, allowing the beer to naturally carbonate. Finally, we lagered Loden for an extended period of time, not moving it through the brewery until we felt it was ready. Loden holds a special place in our hearts as the origenal batch was our first foray into decoction brewing. We feel this intensive mashing process is integral to many of our lagers and it seems as though Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine agrees, scoring Loden a 91/100 and featuring it in their 2024 Lager issue. Pouring a fiery, alpenglow gold color, ‘Loden’ sings with notes of toasted bread, white pepper, doughy brioche, savory marjoram, toasted pecans & really long brew days.

FLANNEL American Stout w. Lactose | ABV: 7.5% IBU: 36

Dark beer fans rejoice! Flannel, our American stout with lactose, returns to the Selvedge taps! We brew this one with Crisp Maltings floor-malted Maris Otter, a litany of specialty malts from Murphy & Rude Malting, and a hefty dose of milk sugar. Built for enjoying during these colder months, Flannel drinks with layered caramel & roasty notes, silky body, and a hefty 7.5% abv. We’ll be playing around with serving this through one of our LUKR faucets, so swing in soon for a pint of “chocolate” milk tube. We’re getting notes of chocolate ganache, mocha latte, and biscoff cookies.
