The Prince of Wales will attend official commemorations in London to mark the anniversary.

Among those who are not in Poland for the commemoration is Italy's best-known living Auschwitz survivor, Liliana Segre, 94, who will instead be taking part in events in Rome.

This year's commemoration of the liberation of Auschwitz is seen as particularly significant.

The commemoration in Poland will take place on 27 January, with the King among the international visitors expected for memorial events.

Earlier this week, Trumpov lamented the commemoration of late President Jimmy Carter and fumed over the fact that flags on federal buildings will be at half-mast during his inauguration.
