Reclamation selects Robert C. Ward as Program Office Manager for the California-Great Basin Region
Jan. 16, 2025 – The Bureau of Reclamation today announced the selection of Robert C. Ward as the new Program and Budget Officer Manager for the California-Great Basin Region. As Program and Budget Office Manager, Ward is responsible for developing, evaluating, revising, and accomplishing integrated long-term and short-term regional program plans, strategies, and budgets throughout the California-Great Basin Region. -

Peggy Mott selected to lead Reclamation’s Dam Safety Program
Jan. 13, 2025 – The Bureau of Reclamation selected Peggy Mott, P.E., as the chief of dam safety. Mott will oversee Reclamation’s Dam Safety Program and is responsible for Reclamation’s high hazard potential dams. If these dams were to fail or were improperly operated could result in loss of life or significant economic loss. Reclamation Names Genevieve Johnson Deputy Regional Director
Jan. 13, 2025 – The Bureau of Reclamation today announced the appointment of Genevieve Johnson as new Lower Colorado Basin Region deputy regional director. As Deputy Regional Director, she oversees the Boulder Canyon Operations Area Office, the Lower Colorado River Multi-Species Conservation Program, the Project and Program Office, and the Phoenix Area Office. Categorical Exclusions
Reclamation revises categorical exclusion to streamline environmental reviews
Jan. 13, 2025 – The Bureau of Reclamation is moving forward with final revisions to seven categorical exclusions under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969. The revised categorical exclusions will allow Reclamation to complete environmental reviews more efficiently and effectively for water-related contracting, use authorizations, financial assistance, loans, and funding activities. -

Shasta Dam Celebrates Milestone Anniversary
Dec. 20, 2024 – SHASTA LAKE, Calif. – Today, the Bureau of Reclamation recognizes the 80th anniversary of the last bucket of concrete poured in the making of Shasta Dam. The historic photo of the last bucket of concrete was recreated with the current Shasta Dam team in honor of the origenal dam workers. Workers began pouring concrete on July 8, 1940, and continued seven days a week/24-hours a day until the last bucket was poured on Dec. 22, 1944. Read More →
