The mission of this Working Group is to provide guidance
in the form of W3C Technical Reports on issues of practical RDF development
and deployment practices in the areas of publishing vocabularies, OWL usage,
and integrating RDF with HTML documents.
This Working Group is now closed and this page is maintained for historical
purposes only.
In future, the SKOS community plans to use the
SKOS Wiki Pages on the Semantic Web Standards Wiki,
as a forum for further discussions,
improvements, etc.
As for RDFa, W3C has formed a separate Working
Group whose charter includes further work on RDFa, in particular a
definition of a DOM API, and its adaptation to HTML5 as well as general XML languages.
The Semantic Web Deployment Working Group Charter shows what the W3C has asked this working group to do.
The Semantic Web Best Practices and Deployment Working Group initiated work on some of the items for which this working group is now responsible.
The following W3C Member organizations have appointed participants to this Working Group. [details (member-only)]. To become a participant in the Working Group, please have your W3C Advisory Committee representative appoint you using the join/leave Web forms. This will also automatically subscribe you to the WG mailing list.
The Working Group has invited the following to participate as individual Invited Experts: Jon Phipps (SKOS), Margherita Sini (SKOS), Manu Sporny (RDFa).
It is possible to participate in SWD meetings by telephone alone but participants' interaction is substantially improved by also joining the #swd irc channel and using the W3C irc tools. The RIF Working Group pages for teleconference participants are recommended:
W3C maintains a public list of any patent disclosures made in connection with the deliverables of the group; that page also includes instructions for disclosing a patent.
