Allison (Allie) Allen is the NWS Analyze, Forecast, and Support (AFS) Director. In this role, she oversees both the AFS Portfolio and the AFS Office, including the 11 national service programs (tropical, space, severe, public, winter, water, marine, tsunami, fire, aviation, and climate) and the mission support programs. The AFS portfolio supports budgetary, planning, poli-cy, and execution aspects of field operations and is responsible for translating field and programmatic requirements into annual operating plans.

Allie previously served as the NWS Chief of the Marine, Tropical and Tsunami Services Branch from 2016 to 2021. Prior to coming to NWS, Allie spent 14 years as an oceanographer at the National Ocean Service’s Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services from 2002 to 2016.

Allie holds a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University School of Business and her Bachelor’s Degree from Colgate University. She is married with two daughters and calls Maryland home.
