Do you enjoy solving problems and playing with technical toys? MIS will teach you to analyze business problems and to design, build and maintain computer applications for solving those problems.

MIS students take the core business curriculum modeled on the interrelationships among the functional areas of business as they occur in the real world. Emphasis is on developing skills for effective teamwork, communication and leadership–the skills employers value highly.

In addition to the core classes, MIS majors must earn credit hours in required management courses and in required MIS electives. MIS courses include topics such as:

  • Database management systems
  • Business applications programming
  • Business information systems
  • Data communications
  • Systems design
