The Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) provides advice and recommendations to the Commission on a wide array of disability matters within the jurisdiction of the Commission and facilitate the participation of people with disabilities in proceedings before the Commission. At this meeting, DAC members discussed (i) a working group report and recommendation on enhanced Electronic Newsroom Technique (ENT) and other technologies for captioning live television programming; (ii) a working group report and recommendation on best practices for creating audio description; and (iii) other topics relevant to the DAC’s work. The DAC also received briefings from Commission staff on issues of interest to the Committee and discussed topics of interest to the Committee, including, but not limited to, matters concerning accessible communications, telecommunications relay services, emergency access, and video programming accessibility.
