The weather over the next two days looks rather interesting with strong winds forecast to bring very warm air into the state today and on Wednesday. A Wind Advisory is in effect for a considerable portion of the state today with wind gusts expected above 40 MPH. This will be combined with high temperatures over 80°F, so the featured chart presents the daily frequency of those two metrics for Des Moines. The individual frequency is plotted along with the combined. For this analysis, these two values only need to be coincident for the day. The frequency of this happening during October is rare, but has happened before. In fact, it happened on the Oct 5th of this year. As far as the latest in the year, it happened on 29 Oct 2004.
