This product provides forecasts for seasonal mean temperature in degrees F, seasonal precipitation totals in inches, and accumulated degree day totals in degrees F (Base, 65 F). The uncertainties in the forecast elements are expressed in terms of probabilities that represent the range of possible values. Here at NWS/NCEP/CPC, we have tried to quantify the varying uncertainties to the best of our ability based on past forecast performance. Users of this product should hedge their decisions to account for the possible outcomes implied by these probabilities.
