The Gallogly College of Engineering is organized into seven schools with each school consisting of one or more programs. In addition, we offer a multidisciplinary undergraduate degree in Engineering Physics. The Mewbourne School of Petroleum and Geological Engineering is in the College of Earth and Energy. Each School also offers Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees.

Always pioneers, OU was the first university in the United States to offer a degree in engineering physics. In keeping with that tradition, we offer a state-of-the-art engineering computer network for research and instruction. OU was one of the first colleges of engineering to incorporate laptops into the curriculum and to provide wireless Internet in the classrooms. More than 60 patents have been issued to OU's Gallogly College of Engineering faculty.

The Wall Street Journal's inaugural ranking of "Best Colleges for Your Dream Career" in Engineering was released May 4. The University of Oklahoma, the only university in the state to make the Top 20 list, ranked #12 amidst a list that includes UCLA, UT Austin and Colorado School of Mines.
Five current students at the University of Oklahoma, four from the Gallogly College of Engineering and one from the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy, as well as four OU alumni, have been named 2024 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellows.
The 2024 OU Sustainability Forum focused on identifying ways in which community, industry and academia can collaborate to overcome the current technological, socioeconomic and scientific hurdles at the intersection between energy and materials science.
