CHIP COMMENT: Mon Sep 23 17:27:16 GMT 1996 No image shown on screen, will end and restart Patrol to see if that fixes the problem. Relabeled the tapes correctly. Data now going to L00417 in drive #0. The problems that Kim and Eric had with the incorrect pointing on DOY 266 was probably due to the old autumnal equinox problem we have every 9/22 ut. It looks good today. CHIP COMMENT: Mon Sep 23 17:43:52 GMT 1996 Manually used the mouse to make sur the dust cover was open and the diffuser was out, this brought back images to the screen. The images were not centered so I typed in Auto to let FixCenter center the image (since the clouds are relatively thin now and the Spar is pointing correctly), then I typed in Manual again to prevent the FixCenter O1 runaways. Program is running well now. LOW-L COMMENT: Tue Sep 24 00:53:46 GMT 1996 Since it is cloudy I will stop the observing and work on changing the software to eliminate the equinox pointing problem and hopefully load the firmware from the Code Load tape. Tue Sep 24 03:21:11 GMT 1996 CHIP ending tape LOW-L COMMENT: Tue Sep 24 03:30:10 GMT 1996 After a lot of testing with various brand new and used low density tapes it appears that the Code Load tape didn't change our problem, if the tape was written to in low density it will be written to that way by both of our tape drives even after the supposed firmware change made by the Code Load tape. I'll talk to Vic on Thursday, but maybe we'll have to gat a degausser. LOW-L COMMENT: Tue Sep 24 04:15:31 GMT 1996 Changed the software as requested by David, as far as I can tell everything is working OK.
