The rear element is documented so it was assumed that it is the bandpass filter and the more orange-red, less dense element, taped forward of it, is the heat rejection element we added. I removed the forward element and reinstalled the bandpass filter. Now disk image looks saturated at the brightest features but initially, David does not see a second limb on the limb images, an anomaly that the HR filter was added to eliminate. I will stop the Patrol and iterate on exposure times to get rid of the saturation. **** EVENT COMMENT ****: Mon Oct 29 20:22:50 GMT 2001 Coronal rain occurring on both east and west limbs all morning. This got rid of saturation in the brightest disk feature. **** EVENT COMMENT ****: Mon Oct 29 20:57:31 GMT 2001 That bright active region on the disk, located in northeast quadrant, has been quite active all morning. We agreed to run this way the rest of the day and take a second look tomorrow when the seeing is better. I will put the insulation back on PICS, with minimal screws, for now. I will most likely jostle the spar around doing this. MKIV COMMENT: Mon Oct 29 22:01:36 GMT 2001 Shipping the old opal back to Boulder via Fedex for testing.
