----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mauna Loa Solar Observatory Observer's Log ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wed Nov 29 16:37:31 GMT 2017 Year: 17 Doy: 333 Observer: berkey WEATHER COMMENT: berkey: Wed Nov 29 16:39:21 GMT 2017 Temp: 40.9f, Humidity: 94%, Pressure: 28.746in, Wind: 9mph from 159degs, Skies: heavy overcast and light rain ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY berkey: Wed Nov 29 19:20:29 GMT 2017 Skies starting to clear. Still to wet to open ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY berkey: Thu Nov 30 01:29:52 GMT 2017 Did a kcor shutter inspection to verify that it still full opens. At this point we do see both shutters fully opening and the lower shutter fully closing. Top shutter fully closes but has a 1/2 burn hole in the shutter. I do note there is a very small finger of plastic in the top shutter that stuck out a couple mm toward the beam. While I beleive this was outside the beam it has been trimmed to avoid potentialy obstruction. I also note that there is some accumulation of material (dust, old melted shutter, etc) in the bottom of the shutter housing on and near the bandpass filter. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY berkey: Thu Nov 30 01:53:23 GMT 2017 Rainy for most of the day. Around 2pm there was almost a window that seemd safe to open the dome; but the sky was still to hazy to get data. This short window has closed again with lots of rain. ___end___Fetched URL: https://download.hao.ucar.edu/d5/mlso/log/observer/2017/mlso.2017d333.olog
