If you have any questions, please call the Township office at 519-395-3735.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Spring is the time of year for new growth in all things, but especially for weeds. There are weeds that grow that are considered noxious as they cause negative affects to the health and well-being of people and livestock that they encounter.

The Township of Huron-Kinloss intends to control Invasive Species Phragmites Australis, poison Ivy, and Hogweed along the lakeshore, on sidewalks, road safety signs, and guard rails, and throughout municipally managed or owned property in the Township of Huron-Kinloss, using the pesticide known as Round up Ultra II Weathermax Registration # 27487 under the Pest Control Products Act (Canada).  The application method will be spraying directly onto the plants. The application of pesticide will be completed for public health and safety per section 7.1(2) of the Pesticides Act.

Commencing on May 1st, until September 30th, weather permitting.

Lithium-ion Battery Safety

They can be found in rechargeable devices like cell phones, laptops, power tools, vacuums, e-bikes, e-scooters, wheelchairs, hoverboards, toys, smoke alarms, lawnmowers and electric vehicles (EV).

Lithium-ion batteries are widely used today because of their ability to store a large amount of energy in a relatively small space. However, if something goes wrong and all that energy is released suddenly and rapidly, it can be compared to a balloon popping. This can cause the inside of the battery to rapidly heat up, leading to a fire that can be difficult to extinguish.

Stop using the battery if you notice these problems:
  • Odor
  • Change in colour
  • Too much heat
  • Change in shape
  • Leaking
  • Odd noises
If it is safe to do so, move the device away from anything that can catch fire. Call 9-1-1.

Using Certified Charging Devices

Only use the charging cord that came with the device or from the manufacturer.
Purchase devices or charging cords that are listed by a qualified testing laboratory
