The bridge is the bane of boating season in Cleveland, since it's usually down for the 100 trains a day that traverse the river. The bridge holds up cruise ships, freighters and power boaters who want to cross fro Lake Erie to the Flats.

A bridge tender works at the site 24 hours a day, observing boat traffic and trains headed toward the bridge, and contacting train dispatchers in Dearborn, Michigan, who decide when the bridge can be lifted.

So check out our video feed. Watch the crew teams practice, the paddleboarders crisscross the river and the sun set on the lake. You might see a freighter chugging to the steel plant, or a cruise ship giving a tour.
