  1. (sensu stricto) A taxonomic genus within the family Scorpionidae – approximately the same as the subgenus Pandinus in Pandinus (sensu lato).
  2. (archaic, sensu lato) A taxonomic genus within the family Scorpionidae – certain large scorpions of tropical Africa and the southeastern Arabian peninsula.
  3. (archaic) A taxonomic subgenus within the family Scorpionidae – Pandinus (Pandinus).
