Vanuatu is prone to natural disasters such as frequent cyclones and droughts which impacted to the food supply chain and thus causing the high consumption of imported and unhealthy food leading to potential risk on malnutrition. It is important to provide safe and secure poultry protein source during and after disaster. The government has an ongoing policy for poultry to achieve a target of 1 million chicken (birds) initiative by 2025.
