Open Labs
Held twice a month, Open Labs are engaging two-hour sessions where we present on a wide range of related topics including data visualization best practices and enhancements to the University's data models. Our team is also available to help with issues you may have analyzing institutional data. This is also an opportunity for attendees to share data visualizations they have created, and get feedback from their campus colleagues.
Tableau
Tableau Desktop is the core data visualization tool used across the University of Kentucky, which allows users to create visualizations and publish them to Tableau Server. Both products are developed and maintained by Tableau Software.
SAP Business Warehouse & Business Explorer
SAP Business Warehouse (SAP BW), developed by SAP, is a data warehouse product that allows users to integrate, transform, and consolidate relevant business information from productive SAP applications and external data sources.
SAP HANA
SAP HANA, developed by SAP, is our central database management system which allows us to quickly access large volumes of data in real-time. While not everyone will require access to SAP HANA, we do feel it is important to have a general understanding of how it works, what data it contains, and its purpose within the data analysis landscape.
