The Hallow Jam is a ranked game jam that is held just before Halloween.

The theme of this jam can be submitted and voted on by everybody (It must be based around Halloween / Horror. 

Submitted games must include the most voted-for theme.

You can interpret the topics however you want.

Hallow Jam is planned to become an annual horror-based jam.

Rules and Guidelines:

• Your game must be original and created specifically for the Hallow Jam.
• The game should primarily focus on Halloween or Horror elements.
• Team sizes are flexible, but please credit all team members appropriately.
• All game engines, frameworks, and development tools are allowed.
• Asset packs and pre-existing assets are permitted, but make sure to give credit to the appropriate creators.
• Your game can be for any platform (PC, mobile, console, web, etc.), but ensure it can be easily played by the judges and other participants.
• By participating in the jam, you grant permission for us to showcase your game on YouTube and related promotional material.

Judging and Community Rating:

• Each participant will have the opportunity to rate and provide feedback on other participants' games.
• Participants are encouraged to engage with each other, play and rate games, and provide constructive feedback to foster a supportive community atmosphere.

Judging Criteria:

• Overall: Evaluate the overall quality and experience of the game. 
• Horror: Assess the game's effectiveness in creating a spooky and suspenseful atmosphere.
• Fun: Determine the level of enjoyment and entertainment provided by the game.
• Innovation: Assess the creativity and originality demonstrated in the game.
• Theme: Evaluate how well the game incorporates the theme. 
• Visuals: Evaluate the visual presentation of the game.
• Audio: Assess the audio aspects of the game, including music, sound effects, and voice acting (if applicable).
