FAO Regional Office for Near East and North Africa

Flagship publications

Every year, FAO publishes the major statistics on food security and nutrition, through the Regional Overview of Food Security and Nutrition in the Near East and North Africa. The Overview also contains numbers on progress towards ending hunger, achieving food security, and improving nutrition and to provide in-depth analysis on key regional challenges for achieving these goals in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Every two years, the Overview focuses on a theme, relevant to food security and nutrition, for in-depth analysis.

The Regional Overview of Food Security and Nutrition in the Near East and North Africa is jointly produced with fellow UN agencies IFAD, UNICEF, WFP, WHO and ESCWA.

The report targets a wide audience, including policy-makers, international organizations, academic institutions and the general public.
