Decluttering, sorting, organising and GSD in January
We just got new furniture (dining table with chairs plus replacing the old sofa; a long-planned expenditure, time chosen on the basis of "let's get it before the economy goes where it's going under TFG) so we're well-placed to do this. There are a few more pieces of furniture we need to figure out for my little office, but this is a great time to declutter and move things, especially the art which was based on the old furniture configuration and will need a significant reshuffle for the new… [more]

I was partway through decluttering my closet and doing a bunch of furniture moving when I got covid for the first time. Five years of avoiding it and Mr Epigrams brought it back from a mandatory work trip (not mad at him but sure am annoyed at his work for putting us in this situation). On the one hand, I am getting nothing done right now. On the other hand, getting this sick is generally very clarifying. It's easy for me to say "fuck it, I am not wearing that pair of pants" and… [more]

Let's say Radio East because easy parking means a lot. Call it 3PM to 5PM and hoping to see smiling faces.

We are here. Walk around the side by the pop-up market and look for the Viking and the woman with purple hair!

February to March Decluttering, Organising, Chores and GSD
I am in the throes of a decluttering clothes moment. Last month we did a long-debated and much needed closet repair (pier-and-beam house, hatch to the underneath in closet, hatch doesn't close) after we did a bunch of house repairs that required hatch/underneath access like plumbing and HVAC work. So as soon as I recover from what I'm pretty sure is an oncoming cold Imma gonna pull the rest of the clothes out of the closet and thank some of them for their service and send them on to someone… [more]

A couple of weekends ago we went over to my FiL's house and received some things from him as part of his Swedish Cleaning effort. (Mostly around my MiL who is not in hospice care but has Parkinson's and is clearly fading, so some things for my husband from his maternal grandfather and some jewelry for me.) We were out of town last weekend but this weekend is going to be cleaning out some things and getting rid of some outright junk so we can make room for the new things in our lives.

Apartment Therapy January Cure 2023 - In progress! - Jan 2-27
This is going to be a fight but I'm going to do it. I have a junk drawer that's aching to be cleaned out.

I still need to do day one but the day two thing is already done! We are lucky enough to have a concierge service that finds us service providers for things from plumbing and appliance repair to big things like fence and roof repairs covered by insurance (which they're helping us with). So when we picked up this service, we made the to-do list and it's incorporated into our regular to-do lists (or at least mine) already!

I am so far behind BUT in the meantime we have had our washing machine's drain line repaired and the drywall for the plumbing fixes that required replaced, plus bonus power-washing of our kitchen drain line today. The house cure for January for us is apparently largely made up of plumbing repairs.

This last couple of weeks we've fixed the drainage from our washing machine which ultimately involved reinstalling all the drainpipes under the house from the washing machine to the street; worked with a contractor and the insurance company about fixing our fence (may need to be replaced) and our roof (will need to be replaced); replaced a busted toilet and gotten the new toilet installed; installed a new second head in the double-head shower; fixed an HVAC problem and the HVAC guy found, while… [more]

Apartment Therapy 2022 Decluttering Cure - Starts Sep 19
Definitely interested! I will at least hang in though I am recovering from a bad medication side effect and going on new meds that may derail progress. The support group will help though!

Definitely have to find some boxes, which might involve seeing if there are any empties in the garage that haven't been recycled yet.
