I had the same idea: I don't need and don't want to install markmap globally, it's just enough to install it locally in a folder where I make diagrams and write notes. I needed to just run yarn markmap instead of fighting with PATH to get markmap cmd working.
Thanks for you pull request, glad that decided to look in pull requests if someone has already done it! As for me, everything is ok in a code.

I want to set the value of markmap_cmd in the Lazy config
so i don't have to make changes to the PATH variable.
