Admission timeline

Please note, the timeline below is for First-Year applicants who plan to start classes in the Fall semester. Applications for the Spring semester are reviewed on a rolling basis starting in October.

For the Fall 2024 application cycle for first-year domestic and international students, Marquette is offering two application deadlines: Early Action and Regular Decision. The application will be available in early August.

Early Action Deadline – November 15

Students who apply Early Action will receive an admission decision notification through their student status page in late December.

Regular Decision Deadline – February 1

On-time Regular Decision applicants will receive an admission decision through their student status page by March 1.

Applications received and completed after the February 1 deadline will be reviewed on a rolling and space-available basis. Decision notifications for these applicants will begin in March after the decision release for on-time Regular Decision applicants.

Reviewing your application

Marquette's holistic admission review considers academic achievement in conjunction with a student's unique talents, leadership and service activities, application essay, school profile, letters of recommendation and any other information a student wishes to submit. Your application may be reviewed by multiple admissions committee members or discussed by the committee as a whole. We know you spend a good deal of time assembling your application, preparing your extracurricular lists and writing your essay. We want you to know we, too, spend a good amount of time reading each application.

Application materials

  • Official high school transcript(s) — required
  • Essay or personal statement — required
  • Extracurricular activities list — required
  • ACT or SAT scores are optional — Review our test-optional policy.
  • Additional personal statements and letters of recommendation are not required but will be reviewed and considered if submitted.
