MEDALLION SIGNATURE GUARANTEE WEBSITE

The Medallion Signature Guarantee Website (“MSG Website”) contains a searchable database of Commercial Banks, Savings Institutions, Credit Unions, Trust Companies, Mutual Funds, Broker/Dealers, Government Agencies, Law Firms, Registered Investment Advisors, and other firms currently enrolled in the Securities Transfer Agents Medallion Program (“STAMP” or “the Program”).  The contents of the MSG Website are provided as a public service and intended to be informational only.  Users of the MSG Website should note the following:

 

1) STAMP Participants determine their own requirements and due diligence protocols for the issuance of Medallion Signature Guarantees, as well as establish fee structures, if any.

 

2) In general, STAMP Participants may consider the following best practices before granting Medallion Signature Guarantees:

 

• The individual seeking the Medallion Signature Guarantee has a continuing customer relationship with the Participant.

 

• He or she has presented appropriate evidence of ownership of the security.

 

• He or she has presented appropriate verifiable evidence of the identity of each owner of the security.

 

• The value of the security has been determined and compared to the Participant’s Medallion Surety Bond limit.

 

A continuing customer relationship means an association in which the Participant provides the individual financial products or services that are primarily for personal, family or household purposes in a continuing manner, and not on an isolated or one-time basis.  Appropriate evidence of ownership means a security certificate, in the case of a physical security; and, a current account statement showing the security as a holding or confirmation of ownership from the issuer or its transfer agent, in the case of a non-physical security, such as a mutual fund interest.  If the value of the security exceeds the amount of the Participant’s Medallion Surety Bond, the Transfer Agent may reject the transaction.

 

3) As a matter of privacy and security, the MSG Website displays only a STAMP Participant’s name, city, state and zip code.  Also, the MSG Website does not list all STAMP Participant locations.  Individuals are encouraged, therefore, to contact their banking or customer service relationship manager to confirm the local availability of Medallion Signature Guarantees.

 

4) Individuals who continue to experience difficulty obtaining Medallion Signature Guarantees should seek assistance from the Shareholder Services area of the Transfer Agent or Issuer requiring the Medallion Signature Guarantee.
